Dog owners, the wonderful people who benevolently care for other living beings right? Wrong. Most people who own dogs only do so for their own selfish reasons. Maybe they have no friends or someone to go to bed with, so they get a dog to make themselves happy. Many people also use their dogs as an acessory. They pick a dog breed as an extention of themselves as if they were pieces of clothing to signal who people are - total vanity. Most people who own dogs don’t do it out of their own goodness, but for their own happiness, out of their own selfish desires of having another living being doing their bidding, vanity, or as an object to curb their loneliness from their lack of human connection. They NEED something out of owning those dogs. It’s the reason why people breed genetic monstrosities that come with a range of health problems - both physical and mental - like pugs. They own dogs like this to fufil their selfish desires with no care about the dogs themselves. That is how owning pets began in the first place, it had nothing to do with “caring for animals”, they were merely status symbols [1]. What you end up with is a sick slave and master relationship where the owner wants power over another being that controls what and when it eats. That “loyalty” that people admire from dogs so much is out of their desperate need to control something in their lives, they need a loyal follower to do everything they say. Some will even go as far as forcing their plant based diet onto them as they do not see them as living beings, but as extensions of themselves, an accessory that must fit in to their values.
I bet you're saying to yourself, "why pick on dogs? What about cats?" Because, cats aren't the ones that will bark all day if their owner leaves them alone in the house while they're at work. Cat's aren't the type of pet that need to be on a lead incase they can't control their beast like instincts to attack anything it sees. Cats aren't the types of pet that can maul you to death!
The average person cannot be trusted to be responsible for animals that could cause so much inconvenience for other people. Think of how much better everything would be if everyone didn’t have to be annoyed by barking, watching their step on the street, hazardous dogshit on their lawn, or the possibility of them biting or mauling someone. And many of these owners expect other people to allow them into their properties like a resturaunt. When dog owners bring their dogs to spaces, they are IMPOSING on you, invading your space and your comfort for their own selfish entitlment. THEY like their dogs so YOU should like their dogs.
Whether or not the majority of people are “responsible” dog owners means nothing when the fact that it’s so easy for stupid people to own dogs is enough of a case why it is bad to own them. Especially when these dog owners are delusional to the point where they’re incapable of seeing how their mutts can be bothersome to other people, it’s like they have a mental illness. They are irrationally defensive of all their actions and expect you to just put up with it and say nothing. They like their dogs and think they’re cute little angels and expect you to think the same. A dog starts getting too close to you and their owner does nothing and if you're uncomfortable they'll just reassure you and say "ohhhhh, he just wants to plaaaaaaay". FUCK OFF! Humans suck, but at least most of them have the decency to respect people's boundries. FUCK OFF!
Now there’s the barking, and there’s the intrusion of personal space, and you better hope that it’s as bad as that, hope that they don’t come at you and bite your arm or face off because last year in 2022, nine people were mauled to death![2] It has only been a month into 2023 at this time of writing and a girl has already been killed. Why? Because some selfish bastards care more about owning cool dogs than the safety of others.

We’ve gone over how dogs inconvenience us, but what about the inconvenience for DOGS? Remember that part about dogs being merely accessaries to the owners? That wasn’t a lie, that’s why they breed them like they do. There are many dog owners out there who would be more than happy to get buy genetic monstrosities that can barely walk and breathe – dogs with backwards feet, dogs with so many skin rolls that you can’t even see their eyes – so they can take pictures of them to post on the internet for their worthless social media points, and some even go further and enter them into dog pagent shows, the life of an animal, reduced to a sick contest, suffering of animals be damned. There are people playing god who think they can just play with life like a toy, people who selfish dog owners encourage and incentivise.[3]
So unless you really need a dog because you’re disabled (no, therapy dogs don’t count, fuck you), fuck dogs and fuck the people that own them.
